Licensing - Cascading floating licese aCAD Mech and Inventor

1) I'm a computer/network person and not a CAD person.

We are switching over from a number of standalone product installs to a floating license for AutoCAD Mechanical and Inventor. We also are heavy users of SolidEdge which we already have setup for floating license.

Any caveats I should be aware of? The cascading system is supposed to allow for fall over if all licenses are used of one type or the other. Do I need to install both license mgrs? Can I just use the current FlexLM engine we use for SolidEdge and add the Mech/Inven licenses in?

Info is good, TIA

I can't say much about license managing since I an a CAD-person and not a network-person - but I know that my compnay uses FlexLM for all our Autodesk products and it seems to work fine.

What I do notice is that once in a while I can't access a license, i.e. they are all in use - so I'm not sure about your statement about the cascading system. Then again, if your reseller of AutoCAD says that that is how it should work, then if it doesn't work like that, it's his butt on the line :)
