Hiya,

Ive been an AutoCAD user since 88' and I am completely frustrated over this problem. I will turn off layers to an xref, save the drawing, come back into it and all my layers will be back on. Is there a command I am missing here? If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!

You could save you layer settings to a layer state in layer manager, then if they do come on or off or what ever you just load the layer state again and they will all go back to how you saved that layer state.

Go to tools, options, open & save, and click on the box that says retain changes to xref layers, then click OK. This will solve your problem. Must be done on any file that contains xrefs.:)
