jcreech Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Hello everybody! I have 2 monitors at my drafting desk. I use autocad 2009. I can not figure out how to put one 3d view one my left screen and my working 3d drawing on my right. I research and I'm not having any luck on how to do this. Thanks, James Quote
mrbucket Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 You mean same program open on 2 monitors? Quote
rocneasta Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 i've never heard of two views in autocad. you can always have your tools on one monitor. Quote
jcreech Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 You have your main page on one with all of you tools and your working 3d drawing. Then on the other you have the one with the main 3d drawing. Quote
mrbucket Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 This might help you...... http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35530 Quote
Reid Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 You have to plug in and enable the second monitor in Windows(right click your pulpit - properties/settings) In ACAD you can work with multiple view-ports, so choose 2 view-ports/view tab, and stretch ACAD across both screens. This is the simplest way to do it, probably. Quote
Reid Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 yes, works in Model space only. I can't find it in the view panel thou. Just call viewports from the Command line Quote
Guest Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Try this: View Menu --> Viewports --> Named Views... Then click on the Named Viewports tab at the top. I assume that is what you are looking for. Looks like the command is '_+VPORTS' for the dialogue box or '+VPORTS' for the command line version. I personally do not like using these views, as it diminishes your viewing area greatly for editing, but with the dual monitor it may be okay... Quote
jmott07 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Is there anyway to make a viewport into a floating window that way you can drag it into the secondary monitor? This would be greatly helpful. Quote
