I-Beam Structure Stress Analyziz

Hi Guys,

Happy New Year to all. :D

BTW, I have query on AI 2010 Suite stress analysis capability. Does it has that feature?

Let say I have a structure of I-Beam IPE 300 structure dimension is H=6100mm, W=8000mm, D=1500mm. Can AI 2010 Suite has that capability to calculate stress analysis automatically. Or do I have to calculate it my self. It is like a structure analysis.

yes it does. if you go to the Environments Tab on the ribbon bar there is a Stress Analysis button. It will handle static and modal analysis. You will need to understand and be able to set up the simulation parameters though, there is no "automatic". Also these simulations are meant to be used as an engineering tool and not a replacement for hand calculations.

AIS does not have FEA. There is limited Beam & Column Calculator in the Frame Generator. (check the drop down in Ribbon - took me a while to relocate this in the new interface)

Must have Inventor Analysis or Inventor Professional for more complete FEA.
