Kobbe Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Hello again, I got yet another problem! When holding down the mouse wheel to pan it goes really fast, much faster then last night. A new drawing deosn't do that, what could be the problem? It might be a problem where Autocad 2010 thinks the centre of the drawing is because I can zoom out as much as I want, Normally you get the error and have to use re command. Hope you understand //Kobbe Quote
Arizona Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 The most difficult thing a computer does is display the information on the screen. Hense, the most important item in our machines is the graphics card. The bigger, more powerfull, more expensive graphics card you have, the better your CAD system will function. This ain't word processing..... Holding down the wheel mouse to pan is incredably hard for a computer to do. The larger the drawing, the more it will struggle to display a real time pan. Quote
Kobbe Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 Don't really know why my computer would make the pan faster, if something it would go slower. I don't think you know what my problem is. Quote
gsksun4 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Don't really know why my computer would make the pan faster, if something it would go slower. I don't think you know what my problem is. I'm using 2009LT and my mouse wheel pan moves as fast as I want. Slow or fast depending on how fast I move the mouse. Zooming with the wheel, moves in incriments. You can feel the click in the wheel. In or out. Not sure I understand your question completely. Glenn USA Quote
Kobbe Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 First of all, I am not an idiot, I use computers every day and know how to use them... I don't want to zoom I want to pan Normally. The speed of the pan have changed, it is much more sensitive now (but just in one drawing) so it is probebely some kind of setting that is wrong. I could upload the file but it is to big for the website... Quote
ScribbleJ Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I'm taking a wild guess here but I'm thinking that this could be your mouse driver settings that could be causing this. Its worth checking into. I don't know why they would all of a sudden change but then again we are talking about PC's here. They have been known to do some strange things. Quote

I am pretty sure it is Autocad that is doing this and not my mouse. If it would be my mouse it would appear in all drawings... Quote

VTI892 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I have the exact same problem, Acad 2010. All of the sudden it decided to go ultra fast when zooming and panning the drawing. So fast that i can't view the drawing. In 2D and 3D the thing goes like crazy left to right .... I have tried "zoomfactor" default is at 60 i change it to 10, and still no change. It zooms just like before. I don't think it is a hidden setting for the zoom / panning speed - it is just another bug. But after a while you learn to love you're Acad bugs, else you would go crazy using it. Quote
rkent Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I would guess you have an object(s) a long way from the rest of the model. Turn on all layers, zoom extents, and see if that is the problem. Erase those objects and zoom extents and try again. Quote
Kobbe Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Think I just copied everything to another file and it was solved. Another possible solution is to change the lens length! By some reason it can be changed by accident to like 500 mm instead of 20 mm. Quote
VTI892 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 That is what i thought first, i accidentally copied pasted something by mistake, when i would double click mouse scroll the object would become just a small dot on the scree. But i couldn't find anything beside what i have drawn. I solved the problem by opening a new file and copying the objects to the new file. I have noticed that such things usually happen when i change the view angle from the quick access box that floats on the right corner of the screen. So now i only use the ribbon for changing the view. I have to admit though that I am not very familiar with acad 2010 and 3D modeling. I used until now Acad 2006 and only 2D. So this could be a reason Quote
