TonyBorland Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Hi What commands would i use to construct this handle. The sloping round section i am not sure on which way to construct. How do i attach .ipt files please Cheers Tony Quote
JD Mather Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Looks like a fairly simple assembly of parts. A couple of extrudes would get a long ways towards the finish. To attach what you have completed so far drag the red End of Part marker to the top of the browser feature history tree hiding all features. Save the file. In Windows Explorer right click on the filename and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder. Attach the resulting *.zip file here. Quote
TonyBorland Posted January 10, 2010 Author Posted January 10, 2010 I will get a hold of a handle which should give me a better look at how to construct the model. When sketching would i form the round section first and extrude followed by next forming the handle again with a extrude? I think the slanted angle of the round section will be the difficult section for me to try and create.Very much a beginner at the moment with Inventor 2010 Will try and attach a file soon Cheers Tony Quote
kencaz Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I used a couple of offset lofted profiles to do the main body. Extruded an ellipse for the base attempting to match the contours of the lofted section. Then lofted the handle using 3 offset rectangular profiles... You can use more if you want a smoother loft. Then you can use Shell to hollow out the solids and add your holes and text. KC Quote
