CJJ Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I'm looking for some information about these programs that now come with Civil 3D. My company has mainly been using the Bentley products like StormCAD, SewerCAD and WaterCAD in the past, but I'm looking at doing away with those and switching to the Hydraflow stuff in an effort to save money. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't need a salad fork and a dinner fork and a dessert fork, when I can just eat it all with the fork I already have in my hand. I'm looking for some good resources for these products that would offer training, tutorials, etc. but there doesn't seem to be much out there. I'd like to know if anyone has any good links they could share, or if anyone has any experience transitioning from the Bentley stuff to these Hydraflow products. Quote
ScribbleJ Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I don't have time to dig up the links I have now but I can tell you that you would be better off using Hydraflow. With Civil 3D 2010 it is suppose to be seamless. At our local CAD users group meeting they had some fellow (can't remember his name) give us an hour long presentation on it and I was amazed at how nicely it works. In Civil 3D 2009 he had to export xml files to use between Hydraflow and C3D but it updated the pipe network that he did the design with in C3D based on the calc's he got out of Hydraflow. I guess I should add that he exported the xml file from the design first into Hydraflow then did his calc's which in turn resized pipes based on his input from IDF's and then exported xml out of Hydraflow into C3D and then it updated the pipe network. Very cool stuff. I can't wait to see how it works in 2010. Next week when I get some time I will add some links for you if I can find them. It has been a while since I used them. Quote
