manchest Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Hi In a previous Thread 3 months ago I was told the following to solve my problem. (sorry I do not know how to link to the thread) "If you are changing VSEDGES to create a new visualstyle, would it be a good idea to create overlapping viewports - whereby one viewport has the visualstyle which contains VSEDGES set to 1 or 2 (to show the edges on steelwork) and the other viewport has the visualstyle which contains VSEDGES set to 0 (to remove the edges for the pipework). Obviously, if you choose this method, you would have to manage the layers in the separate viewports accordingly." Could anybody tell how to overlap viewports so you can the information both viewports at the same time. When I overlap vports the top one covers all the information in the bottom one like a wipeout does. Thanks for any help Quote
Tiger Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 This being the thread in question. All I can say is that there should be a varaible for it, since on my acad my viewports are "see-through" Quote
manchest Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 I am using AutoCAD 2009 for 3D and also have AutoCAD LT 2008 if I overlap the viewports in that they are clear and I can see both views So as you say there must be a varible, Is there an easy way of finding the right varible Thanks Quote
manchest Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 Only seems to be happening when I start a new 3D drawing with a Acadiso3D template. If I open a Acadiso template the vports overlap and I can see both. Quote
dazza Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I am using 2009 and when i overlap viewports you can see what's in all the VP's. on the flip side, i actually would like your problem. I used to be able to hide the objects in overlapping viewport's by just turning the VP layer off and not freezing the layer, but this was in 2007 sadly not in 2009. anybody know the fix?? Quote
manchest Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 It seems to be a problem when the viewports contain 3D drawings then 1 viewport covers the other. If you do it with 2D drawings both viewports are clear Quote
