proflightrc Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I’m not sure if anyone is familiar with TypeItIn by Wavget, but it is essentially a little program that types in repetitive text in to documents (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, etc.). I use this program extensively but am having problems using it in AutoCAD 2002 on my computers that have Windows Vista Home Premium. It works great in Windows XP. My question is – is there anyone that has had similar experience trying to get TypeItIn to function within Windows Vista and AutoCAD 2002? And if so, is there a solution to the problem? I have been in contact with support at Wavget and they have offered a couple of suggestions but nothing works. Any assistance in resolving this is appreciated. Quote
proflightrc Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 Okay…….after a long, frustrating ordeal of trying to figure this problem out, I’ve found the solution to my problem. Here’s what has to be done to get TypeItIn to function in AutoCAD 2002 using Windows Vista: Step 1 Go to Control Panel Step 2 Double click on “User Accounts” Step 3 Click on “Turn User Account Control On/Off” Step 4 Remove the check mark next to “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.” Step 5 Click “OK” Your computer will restart. Open up AutoCAD and TypeItIn will function in AutoCAD 2002 just like it was intended! Thanks…………… Quote
ReMark Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Thanks for the information. Judging by the responses you didn't get I sense you're the only forum member running AutoCAD 2002 using Windows Vista. That makes you unique. Quote

ReMark Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 TypeItIn. I confess. Until now I had never heard of the program. Don't most of the MS Office apps have this capability built in? Quote
proflightrc Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 I’m not sure if the apps have this capability built in or not however, I doubt it. TypeItIn is a pretty advanced little tool that works in more applications than just MS Office and in tons of other programs and applications. Its usefulness is limited only by your imagination. In a drafting environment, it can take your efficiency, accuracy and productivity to higher levels when performing repetitious tasks like invoking commands that you use regularly or occasionally, changing out job information on drawings, filling in attributed forms and so many other things that is done on a job to job or daily basis or anything that you would have to type on a repetitive basis. Imagine changing job information on 100 drawings by hand. With TypeItIn you can make these types of changes on a drawing in a matter of seconds versus minutes or hours. In AutoCAD, it eliminates cluttering up your screen with countless custom or standard tool bars and allows you to make your own custom menus located in one place. It stays on top of your drawing so you can access it anytime while you’re working on drawings and can be docked or moved anywhere on you monitor. It can be closed out or opened up with a click of the mouse. You can create specific menu groups with specific commands, info etc., that allows easy access to perform your desired tasks. The list goes on and on to what you can do with this little program in AutoCAD. You can access specific files (Word documents, Excel documents, PDF’s, drawing files, web pages, etc.) and run system apps with a click of the menu button instead of having to navigate to its location and opening it. Accessing applications and files is much more efficient using TypeItIn than doing things the manual way. Filling in forms, email addresses, passwords, etc., has never been easier. I don’t know about you, but I would rather click on a button to have information inserted in a field rather than having to type things manually on the keyboard – every time. And that’s what TypeItIn is all about; taking the remedial and mundane task of manually typing repetitive text out of the picture and doing it for you. No – I do not work for or represent TypeItIn but am a very satisfied user. As a drafting manager, I can’t imagine NOT having this program in the work place as it increases productivity, efficiency and accuracy in producing the necessary documents necessary for projects. You can try a free, 30 day trial download from wavget dot com. The full version is about $20 and is yours forever. It can be installed on multiple computers. There are 2 different versions available; The Professional version is for individual usage and the Network is for a networking environment. You can read all about it on their web site. Quote
