kae Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I'm trying to install the 64bit AutoCAD Inventor Routed Systems Suite 2010 on a 64bit Windows 7 Professional Platform and I'm running into a lot of errors. Has anyone had any luck installing a 64bit AutoCAD Inventor version on a 64bit Win7? The CAD programs don't run after installation (they just hang). I'm assuming that this is because of the installation errors, even though the attached picture says that Inventor and Mechanical installed okay (there must be a problem with the other two failures). Thanks! -Alan Quote

kae Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 Sorry about that. Here are the error messages: I got this error when I was on Disk 3: Error 1321. Windows Installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file: C\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2010\Bin\AddInMgr.exe Not sure why as it's being installed as the Administrator. On disk 5 I saw this error: The system cannot open the device or file specified. C:\Users\CADLAB4\AppData\Local\Temp\_AIE8EE.tmp\acadm\acad-standalone.mst On disk 6, I saw this error: The system cannot open the device or file specified. D:\x64\Client\Vault.msi The result of the installation says: Autodesk Inventor 2010: Succeeded. AutoCAD Mechanical 2010: Succeeded Content Center Libraries: Failed - The operation Completed successfully. Autodesk Vault 2010 (Client): Failed - The system cannot open the device or file specified Quote
ReMark Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Have you tried researching these errors over at the AutoDesk website yet? Quote
kae Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 I found a post that said not to install service packs and I got it to install, but some programs didn't seem to run correctly at first. I rebooted and haven't had the same problem, so I can't reproduce it. I need to find the service packs and install those now. Thank you! Quote
kae Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 I still think it's strange that I can't build a redistributable 64-bit AutoCAD Routed Systems Suite 2010 on my 64-bit Windows 2003 R2 Server. AutoCAD works okay, but seems to have some problems. I really need to figure out how to get and install service patches on the Windows 7 clients. I'm still searching for more information about these problems. Thanks! Quote
