I want to create this surface as a "skeleton" and model all other parts adaptive to this in assembly ... FYI, it's a load chute on a concrete mixer truck and it's rolled from sheetmetal - of course, not yet complete Appreciate the help if one can have a looks and see for me. JD Mather Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 What do you mean by "second sketch". The sketches are named. None of them have the name "second sketch". It is easier to communicate using the exact names of sketches and features as they appear in the browser. Examine the attached file (done in edu version - so delete after examining). Is something like this what you are after? Your Sketch4 is not needed (Sketch2 is the same thing and is a shared sketch see the handforward icon). Sketch5 is not correct but I left it in so you could compare to yours. Your projection is a spline in this case which sheet metal tools don't generally like. I closely sketched with three lines and two arcs. I would not create your Work Axis1 to create a workplane - not needed. I would have created a sketch on the xz plane and sketch a line in the exact same location you created the axis - but dimension the location from the origin. Use the sketch line just like you used the axis do define the Workplane3. The real advantage is you just double click on the dimension to move the plane if needed. (usually you must hit the Udate icon after changing work feature dimensions before they actually update) CEA41630-0001_jd.zip Quote

You still had to extend loftsrf1 to the inclined plane? And use certain points on the projected surface edge to draw your "approximate" with the lines and arcs? Thanks for the clarification.
