bwandel Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 All of a sudden my layer Properties manager will not open. It looks like it is trying but nothing happens. It will not quit trying until I hit escape. The quick layer pull down works fine. Please help, I'm dead in the water. Quote
ReMark Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 What were you tinkering with prior to this happening? Making edits to the CUI? Quote
bwandel Posted February 3, 2010 Author Posted February 3, 2010 I wasn't playing in the setting at all, but apparently I did something without knowing. Quote
ReMark Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Then try this. Save your drawing. Close AutoCAD. Shut off your computer. Sing the national anthem (just the first verse). Turn on your computer. Start up AutoCAD. Load a drawing. Try Layer Properties Manager again. What happens? Quote
rkent Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Maybe it is off screen. Start CUI, pick current Workspace, over on right pick palettes, now pick Layer Properties, set location from floating to left, apply, close, see if it works now. Quote
ReMark Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 classiclayer??? Yes. LAYER, typed in at the command line, will bring up the Layer Properties Manager. Quote
bwandel Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Thanks for all the suggestions, none seem to be helping. I think I'm going to reinstall the program. I would have rather found out the problem in case it happens again, but I have some dead lines that have to be met. Thanks again, Bret Quote
ReMark Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Before doing a reinstall I would recommend trying the REPAIR option first. Quote
ReMark Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 If you go the reinstall route bear in mind that AutoDesk has a recommended procedure for removing products to ensure a clean install. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=2887771&linkID=9240617 Quote
bwandel Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 Thanks for the tips. I'm still looking for an answer on this. I have a feeling it will show up again. Quote
