Hello again Folks,

I just noticed as I was going though some video tutorials and had an .ipt open to follow along with, that as I place a Two Point Rectangle at the Origin Point and drag over to make a rectangle, the Horrz. and Vert. lines in line with the Origin Point do not constrain like they show in the video. Also I am not able to drag an Arc from a straight line segment by holding the left mouse button down and dragging over, also in the video tutorial.

Do I have some settings that are not set right? I've looked ALL through the Application Options and I have not been able to find anything. Anybody out there have any suggestions??

Thanks in advance, have a great day.

Hey J.D., thank you for the reply. I'm assuming that you mean the Menu button at the top right of the Menu bar. I tried that in different variations and still get the same results, no Constraints or dragging of an Arc, very weird

It is either Constriant Persistence, Constraint Options or Application Options you have changed. If you can't figure it out attach an example file here that exhibits the behavior so that I can take a look.

For good measure, try rebooting your computer as well.

Thank you again J.D., checked my Constraint Options and the Coincident was UNchecked,,,,,duh, not sure when that happened, but that fixed everything. I do appreciate you taking the time to help, was driving me a little batty.

Thanks again, take care, hope I can return the favor someday.

Dear J.D.

I'm facing the same problem as BillB was having, but i'm unable to find the Constraint options, They do look like they are activated but when drawing a sketch using the Line tool it can not be extruded.

Circle, Rectangle work great though

Kind regards,

Attach file that exhibits this behavior here.

Sorry for beating at this again, but I am having the same problem. My company just went and upped from 2011 to 2012 and now all my sketches won't convert to profiles due to open loops. I have checked the constrain pulldown and have a activated / deactivated Interference and Persistence so that they are both on, both off, on alternatly. Nothing seems to solve the issue. Still have open loops all over the place. Unless I create a simple geometric shape like a circle or rectangle using the respective tools, all outlines of profiles I create, constrained or not, result in open looped lines. Also, seems that 2012 did away with the Snaps option unless you're drawing (no Application setting or whatnot). Help truly appreciated cuz this is driving me bonkers!
