happyunited Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Hi, Does anyone have a list of commands to create symbols in MTEXT? I need the more than & less than symbol please. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 You don't have to create the symbol just pick it from the Symbol list. Just start composing your text, right-click, select Symbol > Plus/Minus (%%p). That's all there is to it. Quote
happyunited Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 Cheers but that's not what i'm after. Ah I found it. This is what I was after "\U+2264" or "\U+2265" Quote
NBC Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 More than > Less than The above can both be found on the keyboard, no need to use a symbol Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Oops. My bad. Still, I'd either use the method NBC suggested or the Symbols option and then select the "" from the character map rather than using the outdated "\U+2264" or "U\+2265". Quote
A1DWG Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I tend to go into Word and use the insert symbol command, it will give keyboard shortcuts for symbols which you can use in MTEXT. Eg Press and Hold ALT and type 0178 you get ² (squared symbol). Perhaps this will be a solution? Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 It seems counterproductive using anything other than direct symbol insertion unless, for some strange reason, you need that one rare symbol that can't be created any other way than using Alt plus a four-digit number or the \U+???? option. We aren't talking about AutoCAD release 9 here or our DOS days. Quote
BearDyugin Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Start -> all programs -> Standard -> housekeeping -> Symbol table It is not absolutely assured of correctness of transfer, search for the similar Choose any(RMB copy, Ctr+C, Ctr+Ins) and insert(RBM past, Ctr+V, Shift+Ins) where you want Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Geo: What OS are you using? Can't find anything resembling what you posted above in XP Pro. Quote
BearDyugin Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Geo:What OS are you using? Look Computer Details at me Can't find anything resembling what you posted above in XP Pro. Here a screenshot, try with to be guided under pictogrammes Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Sorry but you lost me with the above. I would think that by "computer details" you were referring to the Control Panel and possibly the Device Manager but I still see no entry for Standard. If you tried to post a screen shot that did not come through either. Quote
bonehead411 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Geo: What OS are you using? Can't find anything resembling what you posted above in XP Pro. Geo's example is a screenshot of the character map with the 'Unicode' character set chosen under Advanced View. Yours may be set to something different ReMark. Quote
ReMark Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Thanks. Advanced View? Can't say I ever heard of that. I'll have to poke around. Quote
eldon Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Thanks. Advanced View? Can't say I ever heard of that. I'll have to poke around. For me, using XP, I get there from the Desktop - Start - All Programmes - Accessories - System Tools - Character Map Quote
