Crazy J Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I'm working in 2002, so this might not be the same now, but.... I am trying to pimp my pgp file to get all the keystroke commands as efficient as possible for the commands I use most frequently. I use 3D Mirror a lot. I've created a button and a hotkey (ctrl + numpad3), but depending on the day or where my hands are, I also wanted to make an alias for it, such as '3m'. The full command is '_mirror3d', with capitalization not mattering. Now, here's the weird part. I have added this alias to the acad.pgp file. I have tried all the different ways w/rt capitalization (i.e., _mirror3d, _MIRROR3D, _mirror3D, and _MIRROR3d). I save the file, reinit the pgp file, and type '3m' on the command line and hit enter. It comes up as _MIRROR3D regardless of which capitalization I put in the pgp file. And it says it is an unknown command. If I type the full command (in any of the capitalizations) on the command line, the command works. But when it pulls the very same command from the pgp file, it does not. Any ideas? Also, this gives the same results with _rotate3d and _layerp, as examples. It seems to be the underscore commands that the pgp file can not create proper aliases for. I believe the underscore character before a command refers back to previous versions of AutoCAD or something like that. I have added/modified other regular commands in the pgp file with success. ReMark Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Substitute a period for the underscore and see if that makes a difference. Quote
Cad64 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 The underscore before the command helps Non-English versions of Autocad understand English commands when they are typed at the command line. You should not include an underscore or period in your pgp aliases. Remove them and your alias should work as expected. Quote
Crazy J Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 CAD64, That's it! One thing to note. Each time I start AutoCAD and then hit the '3m' alias on the command line for the first time, I get the response "initializing" and then it enters the command (select objects, etc.) and works fine. I don't suppose that is a problem or abnormal, but just wanted to note it. Thanks. Quote

I made the pgp fix on my work machine today, and I do not seem to get the "initializing" note. Same version... hmmm.... Quote

It probably has to do with your computer. How does your work machine compare to the one you have at home? I noticed you only have 1GB RAM listed in your computer details. You might want to think about increasing that. Especially if you're doing 3D work. Quote
Crazy J Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 How does your work machine compare to the one you have at home? Work computer is XP and home is Vista, both have the same RAM, and this work one probably has a better video card... I don't really know what I have at home. Quote
