bradbb2005 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with text masking in Xrefs. We ususally do our text in paperspace and we subconsulting on a project that wants text in modelspace in the xref. The problem is: When I mask the text in the [Electrical] Xref, it masks out the other drawings that are overlayed into that Xref, but when I go to my drawing and Overlay the [Elecrical and Other] Xrefs the text mask doesnt mask the [Other] Xrefs, although it will mask the items in the [Electrical] Xref. I know I can Xclip, but is that the only way to remedy the problem? I cannot wipeout becasue it will wipe my text! Any help will be greatly appreciated! I will attach a screenie in a min. Quote
skipsophrenic Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Quick question - in the properties whats the definde text width and/or height? Quote
bradbb2005 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Width is [9/32"] and Height is [0"], maybe this is the problem?? ill mess with the numbers... Quote
bradbb2005 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Well, I tried adjusting the height to the correct value but to no avail... Quote
skipsophrenic Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Try setting them both to 0 and see how that goes. That's usually the solution, Also once you've put the text where you want it make sure that it's at the front in draw order Quote
bradbb2005 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Both set at 0 and brought to the front, still no beans. I should also mention this is Mtext. Quote
skipsophrenic Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 have you tried auditing the drawing in case there's something worng that audit can fix? Quote
bradbb2005 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Sorry for the delay, had a meeting, but Auditing did not help the problem. Quote
bradbb2005 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Fixed it. What I had to do was: In my Xref 1. Send the other Xrefs to the back. 2. Save In the Drawing 1. In model space send all other Xrefs to the back and Bring mine to the front 2. THEN In layout view I had to go through the viewport and do the same (send all other Xrefs to the back, then bring mine to the front) Now it seems to work fine, must be a glitch somewhere, but thanks for the help! skipsophrenic Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 No probs, seems mad that had to do it in xrefs as well Quote
