SFG13 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Hi, I created a drawing using the AutoCAD 09' version, but how can I save the drawing as 00' since my class uses it? I did a recent skateboard drawing and saved it as "2000(LT2000)," and just to be sure I saved it multiple times but when I went to class today and tried to open it, it said something like "cannot be opened, it was created by a more recent version." I just don't understand, is there any other way I can save the file as 00' while using 09'? Quote
ReMark Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Just the way you did it but this time pay attention to the line that says Files of type. Sometimes users don't realize this resets to the current version. Quote
ReMark Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 The other option is to download DWG TrueView from the AutoDesk website. It has DWG TrueConvert that you can use to save from one file type (2009) to another (2000). Here's a link to the website where it can be downloaded. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112 Quote
SFG13 Posted February 23, 2010 Author Posted February 23, 2010 Okay I'll try it, thanks ReMark! Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Just the way you did it but this time pay attention to the line that says Files of type. Sometimes users don't realize this resets to the current version. Only odd thing in this, is you MUST then exit, close or otherwise get out of Acad. Otherwise if you forgot something or maybe do something as innocent as a pan or zoom, it then overwrites what you saved, and reverts to the most current version of Acad. Thus you saved it, but who cares. Everything got saved as a 2009 version when you exit then. Wm. Quote
SFG13 Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 I wish 09' had a drop down menu like the one you have Coosbaylumber. Thanks for the tip! Quote
bonehead411 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Or if you want 2000 as your default save version: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showpost.php?p=4343&postcount=2 Quote
SFG13 Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 That's what I'm looking for, I hope it works. Thanks Bonehead411! Quote
