ae92
Is there anyway to dimension a pline that has multiple segments (eg. arcs, lines) without having to xplode the pline? For example I need to find the distance of 2 points that lie along the pline.
BearDyugin
Select a pline -> cliques right button of the mouse-> Properties-> Geometry-> Length
ae92
Select a pline -> cliques right button of the mouse-> Properties-> Geometry-> Length I do realize thats what you do to find the entire length of the pline, but thats not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a way to find a distance of measure between 2 points ALONG a pline, neither of which reside on the endpoints of the pline. Kremer
If you were drawing the pline you could start and stop the segments and those endpoints remain even if they are all part of a larger line. If not, then draw lines over the pline? They could be your little secret.
Glen Smith
You can add points to the PLINE after the fact by doing a PEDIT, select your line, then EDIT VERTEX. Use NEXT and PREVIOUS to move along to existing points in the pline, then INSERT a point. Once the point is on the PLINE, dimension lines should snap to it. Lee Mac
Alternatively, you use set your UCS to align with the Pline segment, and use the OSnap Tracking (with ORTHOMODE on), to get the distance you want between vertices.
alanjt
If you have Dynamic Mode turn on, you can grip the segment and it will give you all the desired information.
