elevation views

I messing around witht he elevation views. We usually show a ground line representing finish grad then dash the footing below. how do i do this in the elevation view? Is there a way to have it show as dashed ? also with the foundation it shows cmu hatching. i want to turn thi soff but i just want to see footings dashed below grade.

Unless I am modeling the terrain which is rare,

I usually just draw a white filled region depicting

the ground plane. I use a heavy line for the

ground plane then invisible lines for the rest

of the region. Then you can draw over the

filled region with dashed lines to show the

foundation.

 

Maybe it is too much of a throwback to

traditional drafting but it is quick and easy...
