I'm changing my PGP/comand alias' file and I'm currently in the file, in notepad. Shouldn't notepad ask if I want to save or not? I made the changes, but see no way to save the changes.

I X out of the file and the changes are lost.

Are you working in Notepad? Should just be a simple File/Save.

Also, keep a backup of the original file as well as your modified file in some other place for a rainy day.

Drop down File>Save? Should be easy enough to save file?

Don't "X" out, be sure to use the drop down menu and File>Save.

The original file is gone, replaced with the file you're saving.

First of all CAd should be closed for these changes to take effect. CAD only reads then when it first opens up. that being said inside the notepad there should be a few drop down menus. (file, edit, format, view, and help) clicking the file drop down and moving to save should do the trick..........or by some odd twist of fate do you not have those drop downs that i mentioned?

Not exactly. After saving changes, just type REINIT at the command line and reinitialize your pgp. No need to close and re-open.

I even made a shorter command for REINIT in my pgp file since I was customizing it so often:lol:

Thanks all for the fast response. I did File, save, and got out of the drawing. Opened it up again and the change didn't work. I changed stretch from "S" to "ST". "ST" was style. I changed style to "STY" and did file save, and it doesn't save. It shows the new way in the PGP file, but the command "ST" still opens the text style box.

OK, I just did the "REINIT" and it worked. Thanks to all. You guys are the best.

By the way, I always put these things in my cad bible/bag of tricks.

Thanks again.
