Is there any way to set pure black instead of the default grayscale without creating a new .pc3 file? Every time I go back into autocad, it defaults to grayscale and I have to reset to pure black when plotting. I have to be careful when saving things when in the plot window. Not sure of how or where to save. I don't want to overwrite the wrong thing.

You should handle this with your CTB file and not the PC3 file.

Hi Glen,

In your default .dwt file goto your page setup and change the plot style to monochrome and save the .dwt

If you need to change it in an existing drawing, just change the plot style to monochrome and click apply to layout. This will remember the option the next time you want to print it.

Steve, thank you for the quick reply. Not sure how to get into the default .dwt file and its page setup. I can change to monochrome within my drawing, but I already have different plot styles set up with special lineweights. When I go to monochrome, it doesn't show the lineweights I have set. I'd just like to set something once, for all drawings so it doesn't plot in grayscale and I could keep the lineweights set in my plot styles. Could this be done, and if it's the way you described with that .dwt file, could you please explain in further detail how I would do this? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Thank you for the reply stykface. I'm not familiar with the CTB file and how to change it. I do need to use the plot styles set up with my lineweight settings intack though.

type STYLESMANAGER at the command line to bring up your CTB files. Open the one you use, Shift+Select Color 1 through Color 255 and where it says Color on the right side, set it all to Black. Use this, of course, if you in fact want ALL the colors to plot black. :)

That did the trick, and it's already in my notes. Thanks so much for the help.
