GuyH Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Hi, Due to restraints of a work project I've only just installed 2010. I notice you can now do multi-body parts which presented me with maybe there is a possibility to do something I really hope is possible one day in inventor. We as a company design and supply aluminium windows, door and curtain walls. Our profiles though are often a combination of 2 aluminium half shells and a plastic stip in the middle of the profile providing a thermal break. since the option in 2008 to author your own profiles and use them with Frame generator I've found it an ever improving tool and great for what we do. I can get my BOM with a cutting list for the profiles which aids development no end. The problem I've had with the frame generator though is to author a profile I've had to create it as one solid thus I cant properly assign the properties to the part. ideally I'd like to be able to create one part with 2 bodies which are aluminium and one part plastic. I can create the part like this but I cant author it in the frame generator. I can only select one extrusion. Is there a way I can do what I want to do or is it something that may be possible in the future. Thanks for any help. Guy PS attached is an example of a typical profile. Quote
