BigGeeRam666 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I was using autocad 2010 to finish up a project for school, and was copy-and-pasting a lot, using the ctrl-shift-v keyboard shortcut. I must have mistyped the function, and hit another valid command. Now autocad won't let me select anything except object snap points (endpoints, midpoints, ect). In other words, I can't select a point out in space, save for initially opening the green/blue selection window (even then, I can't close it unless I've selected a snap point). If anyone knows what I might have done to trigger this, and how to fix it, I'd be eternally grateful. I'll probably end up copy-and-pasting the whole drawing into a new window to keep working, but I'd love to know what I did so it doesn't happen again. Thanks! Quote
Cad64 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 These keyboard commands work differently. Make sure you're using the correct ones for what you're trying to do. Ctrl+Shift+C = Copy with base point Ctrl+Shift+V = Paste as Block Ctrl+C = Copy Ctrl+V = Paste Ctrl+Shift+C requires you to specify a base point before selecting the object you want to copy. So you have to pick a snap point first. If you don't want to do that, then just use Ctrl+C. Quote
BigGeeRam666 Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 Thanks for the feedback, though I was intentionally pasting as a block (putting in a window x30 on this house). As for setting Pickadd = 1, when I copied my drawing over to a new window of Autocad, I closed the one that was giving me problems. Upon opening it again, it works just fine. I guess all I can do is hope I don't accidentally hit...whatever it was I hit the first time...again. Thanks again for the help! Quote
lpseifert Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 There's a button in Properties that toggles Pickadd, maybe you hit it by accident. Quote
