hi,

I've just started a engineering drafting course at uni, we are at the basics of free hand sketching. I was wondering can you draw up a A4 landscape template that i can print out that has a isometric grid with a border and title block so i dont have to draw them each time.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Yes that can be done.

First draw the page layout and title block the size of the paper (Use rectangular snap).

After you finish, reset to isometric snap. Using the point command place a point at each grid location. Set the line weight of the points to 0.30mm.

Then you should be able to plot the drawing template.

Don't forget to set your snap and grid to your desired space requirments.

Draw your rectangle to define the area of your isometric lines. Use bhatch twice to create your iso lines, finally draw one vertical line and array it across.

I have done this at work and used a dot line type with a narrow line width. Some experimenting is required to get the lines just right.
