mynmonic Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 say if i import 10 objects from 1 cad drawing in to max scene. the 10 objects will become 10 elements and all combined in 1 mesh object in max. i wanted them to be separate objects in max. i know that i have to assign each object with an individual layer name in cad in order to get what i want in max. however if there's a building scene with 100 objects ( walls, windows, door, door handle..... etc), apparently i don't want to create 100 layers and assigning them 1 by 1. is there a smarter way to do this? or if there's any lisp in cad so i can do hundreds of layer assignment in 1 command? or there is some way in max to read the cad data by object not by layer? please suggest, thanks. Cad64 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 When you Import your CAD model, in the Import Options dialog, choose to derive Autocad primitives by: Entity. Quote
