Wilbri Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I am placing this topic in the beginners area as I can not decide on another suitable area. So if there is, I would be obliged if it was moved to the correct place? Possibly pertains to additional software and hardware! Two Questions: 1) How does one obtain Acad screen views that are used to portray a picture as part of demonstration/explanation used by contributors to this forum. 2) Similarly, how does one create a video to demonstrate procedure as sometimes found on this forum? ReMark Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 You can capture an image of your screen using the Print Screen or PrintScrn key on your keyboard then paste the image into a program such as Paint. Save the image as a bmp or jpg file for uploading to CT. Quote
Wilbri Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 I possibly need to re-phrase my question but not sure how to. What I am eluding to are the images that appear within the Acad monitor drawing area rather than an entire screen shot of the whole ACad screen itself . The same goes for for the videos. Does this make sense? Quote
ReMark Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Screen capture, edit in Paint program, or other program of your choice, for just the "area" in question. One such program is called Snag-It. I have no experience with videos. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Holding down the ALT key plus pressing Print screen will print the current window only. Snag it/Camtasia are great programs, if you keep your ears and eyes open they ocasionally give away old licensces for free. Otherwise you could try 'Jing'. Quote
sparkyuk Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 within "paint" you can crop the picture to show just the part you want Quote
Wilbri Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Thank you sparkyuk. I have been attempting to do just what you described in MS Paint but to no avail. Paint2 what's that? I have been using MS office for years and attended courses on the subject, although I must admit that I concentrated on Excel and Word which are the programs I apply in my job - mechanical engineering design and communication. I have found it and am presently downloading from Brothersoft and look forward to using it to better explain myself. Quote
