gsksun4 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I'm having a problem with my machine laggin when i trim hatch. Can someone tell me what might be causing this problem? How long does it lag? I just tested my 2009LT and the first trim was about 2 seconds. After that, it was instantaneous. Glenn USA Quote
gsksun4 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 It Varies From 1 Min to 5! OK, that's real bad. I don't have your answer, but the good folks here do a great job of helping out. I know hatches take up a lot of size in a drawing, but that's not your problem. There are updates to 2010 and that might be a part of it, but I can't be sure. I use 2009LT. I'll be curious to hear what they have to say on this. Be patient, there are many experts here. Somebodies bound to jump in. Quote
Car5858 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 It Varies From 1 Min to 5! What are you machine specs? I had this problem also, upgrading the ram seems to have solved this problem for me. The machine needs to recalulate the boundries and re-hatch when you use the trim command on a hatched item. If the hatch is in a large area this could take some time. Sometimes I find that it is better to deleat the hatch and start a new hatch. Quote
ReMark Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 When you say you "trim the hatch" does that mean you also Explode it first? Could you tell us the name of the most recent hatch pattern you have tried to trim when the problem occurs? Quote
Tankman Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Ouch! I don't think I would explode a hatch. Is your time spent trimming an exploded hatch? Quote
ACSMan Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 I think that may be my problem is that i'm not expolding the hatch before trimming. The last i did was Air Concrete for some section views of walls. But i did not explode it before trimming it. Quote
Car5858 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 IMHO exploding a hatch is asking for bigger problems. This will create numerious objects that will need to be edited separately. Quote

gsksun4 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I Agree!!! I also agree. Years ago you couldn't trim a hatch without exploding. I couldn't in R14. Now you can trim without exploding. It's fast especially with fence crossing. Exploding leaves a lot of loose pieces to tend to. Quote
Cad64 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 If you need to redefine the hatched area, and you are unable to trim it, delete it and then re-hatch it. You should never explode a hatch. I don't know why that's even an option. Quote
Arizona Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 We had a guy here that often exploded Mtext and Hatches. He is no longer employed here. Quote
Eatonpcat Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 We had a guy here that often exploded Mtext and Hatches. He is no longer employed here. My Boss/Owner explodes hatch all the time... But I guess I can't get rid of him!!!! Quote
