Krztoff Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Hello, I might be seriously missing out on something here, but is there a way to make a dimstyle that always puts the dimension line at a constant distance away from the dimensioned object? I would like to pick 2 points with dimaligned function and get a dimension line always at the same hight away from the object. Currently I have to drag the dimension line to a desired place, and if they are on curved objects I get them all at different distances and they look unprofessional. Quote
Fire_col Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Yep. Dimstyle>Modify>Lines> Check the box 'Fixed Length Extension Lines' and then enter your Length into the box that becomes available. Quote
Krztoff Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 Thanks for the reply Fire_col, however, if I change that option it still asks me to specify how far to put the dimension lines, it simply draws the extension lines at the specified length thus making the offset gap different. I was thinking more of a way of picking 2 points and the dimension line shows up like for example 1 drawing unit above the line I dimensioned or the closest point of a curve, and I don't have to do anything anymore like dragging the dimension line closer or further away. Maybe that is exactly what Fire_col mentioned, but it doesn't work on Civil 3d 2008 then Quote
