JD Mather Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 As far as inserting a 2D AutoCAD dwg into an Inventor drawing, how hard is it to transform the dwg into a 3D drawing? Easy, there is even a utility here http://labs.autodesk.com but I would not use that method as AutoCAD geometry is often garbage. I would learn to use the Inventor sketcher. Reproducing AutoCAD geometry in Inventor is an excellent method of learning the sketcher. Can the 2D AutoCAD dwg be dropped into an .ipt, or does it have to be dropped into an .iam? Each individual part should be in an ipt file. Can the 2D AutoCAD dwg be dropped into an .ipt, or does it have to be dropped into an .iam?
