tornbloj Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Hi! I try to cad a drum to a washing machine in inventor but i have some problems when it comes to the holes. as you all know there is quite a few holes on the drum. approx. 3000. How do I make this so it won't take too much of my computers capacity?.. I am very greatful for some help. The part how it is made now is attached but i wonder if there is an better way to do it? Thanks John Quote
JD Mather Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 To attach a file here you will first have to drag the red End of Part marker to the top of the browser hiding all features. Save the file. In Windows Explorer right click on the file name and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder. Attach the resulting *.zip file here. Quote
kencaz Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 If you cut all the holes it will certainly tax your resources, however unless this is a pattern that will be flattened for a punch press or similar machine I would just apply a material. The left part file using applied perforated materials is 155kb. The right part file cutting the holes and only a fraction of what you need is 2MB. So depending on what the file is for you can decide which is best. KC Quote
