cjshaw Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I'm running ACAD 2004 LT. For some reason, when I look at a directory of dwg's, the drawing icons have changed from the 2004 blue/white to the 2007 yellow/greenish. What happened? I also have Autodesk Design Review, DWG Trueview 2010 and Buzzsaw 2009 installed. Thanks! Quote
BWells Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Chances are that that new programs you have there are the culprits and pretty much overwrote the .ico file. It's not really a bad thing. honestly, in Windows 7 the icons are changed by the windows itself to act like a thumbnail picture all the time therefore making the DWG icon useless. Quote
cjshaw Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 I figured as much, any way of changing them back, i.e settings in some of the "culprits" Quote
cjshaw Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 I'm also running XP and as this is at a company will probably do so for some time. Quote
nukecad Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 You can change the icon through the control panel >folder options> filetypes, select the dwg icon, click advanced, click change icon. You will probably have to browse to find the icon you want. Quote
cjshaw Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 Thanks Nuke- I have three ACAD LT running at the same time (have a three screen display) that I work on with dwg's, I also leave my PC fired up all week and shutdown for the weekend. I had closed one of the three instances today then reopened. Now when I look in any directory under the AC I reopend, I have the 2007 icon, the 2004 one is still displayed in the directories of the other two instances. If it was just a file or two no big deal but I need admin rights any how to change. I also just notced that when I see a 2007 icon it says it is a DWG Trueview Drawing as compared to the 2004 icon, an AutoCAD LT drawing. Seems like a link somewhere with Trueview and AutoCAD but where and how to disable? This is a shared network drive and I don't want this to affect others. Quote
