Ok, i thought it was just 2010 Civil 3d causing my computer to crash. 3 times when i closed autocad, a few seconds after the autocad screen went away the computer crashed and showed the blue screen of death. Today using 2009 land desktop closed autocad and sure enough blue screen of death... This ever happen to anyone else?

Haven't had a BSOD using AutoCAD 2010 or 2009 either.

Is XP up-to-date with service packs?

Did you download and install the Update 1 for Civil?

Does this crash occur with any drawing or a particular drawing?

Posted

Everything is up to date. Not one drawing in particular. Does not do it every time.

Do you have an anti-virus program running in the background?

Have you used any Registry cleaners lately?

Yes i have norton anti virus, and no reg cleaners....

Went to run 2009 land desktop, no tool bars, no menus... nothing.... Going to do a clean uninstall and reinstall 2009 and 2010....

Check your XP service pack again.

The automatic download Microsoft issued on 10 FEB had a problem that caused BSOD on various setups. (They quickly withdrew, fixed, and reissued it).

I personally have sorted out three different machines for friends by booting in safe mode, restoring back to 09 FEB and then letting the new version of the SP install again.

So far successful.

Can you uninstall service packs through add or remove programs. I can try that.
