Scaling Point Symbols by Parameter

I'm trying to plot my trees blocks, from survey data, at different sizes, based upon one of the point parameters. We have two basic Description Keys for this: EVG and TREE for Coniferous and Deciduous Trees.

In my point file, I have this:

2581,515315.3277,1269514.3839,433.7249,EVG 10 SPRUCE

2582,515270.4251,1269536.7511,432.1819,TREE 14 DOGWOOD

In my Descriptor Keys, I have $1" $2 $3

My description that gets placed for these 2 points are:

10" SPRUCE

14" DOGWOOD

and the two different blocks are placed, one for EVG and one for TREE. It sure seems like everything is working as expected.

During my first tests, I turned on "Scale by Parameter $1" and adjusted the Scale Factor until the size met with the bosses approval. I realized later that the drawing scale was being applied and that I needed to take that out of the equation. But when I did, my TREE block comes in with no scale applied but my EVG block is working perfectly.

My settings for the two are identical, except for the block to use and the code to match.

Has anyone seen something like this and know what might be the cause.

I also found that although i have two tree blocks I can use, one is from the client and it looks different than our normal one. If I use our tree block, it scales properly. If I use the client block, the scale seems locked.

This is in LD 2007, if that helps.

Doesn't anyone out there know how to fix this?

I'm really beating my head against the wall here.

LD 2008. With one set of blocks - same descriptor keys - blocks scale according to a parameter. Try same command but with client blocks of same name but different graphics, blocks do not scale.

This is maddening!

Three posts, all by me. Anyway...

I figured this out. Tuns out, the blocks that would not scale were annotative. once I changed them so they were no longer annotative, I was also then able to set them to "Scale Uniformly" as no. Then, and only then, the blocks scale as defined in my descriptor keys.
