sevdo2000 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Hello, is there way to do that (on the name of threat). I mean like select two or more hatches and in the properties you can see the cumulative area. I have a lisp to sum all lenths and areas of plines in selected layer but I want to have the cumulative area of two or more polylines. I use and the command "area" but it is so slow (select obj, ... add and so on), and the selected polylines is not visible (I mean I don't know which poly I choose and make correction to select and unsel.). Thanks. Quote
ReMark Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Try a search of the site for "area lisp". I've seen a Lisp routine for cummaltive area at Cadalyst magazine (Tool Tips) and at CAD Corner Canada. Quote
sevdo2000 Posted April 2, 2010 Author Posted April 2, 2010 I found it here http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=46420- posted before 2 days. Thanks again Quote
Lee Mac Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 This may help also, it retrieves Perimeter as well as area: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showpost.php?p=311693&postcount=20 Quote
sevdo2000 Posted April 2, 2010 Author Posted April 2, 2010 It's perfect and usefully too. I wonder if this can replace my attribute with (in battorder) 1-st - name of the room, 2-nd - the area, and 3-rd the perimeter ... ( the first I'll have to write ) Quote
LIXBERTSILLA Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Hello Mr. Lee Mac, can you help me with my problem? How can i get the cumulative area of various closed object and display it automatically in the properties like in auto CAD 2004? because if i select more than one object, it displays VARIES. and also the cumulative lengths? and if you will give me codes like what you have been advising to others who were asking help from you, how can i use these codes? where will i paste it? thank you so much. I will greatly appreciate if you could help me with this, PLEASE.... Quote
ReMark Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Those codes, as you call them, are lisp routines. They can be loaded using the APPLOAD command in AutoCAD as one option. Then you have to know what the command name is to run the code. This is not always clearly stated depending on who wrote the program and/or where you got the program from. If in doubt open the lisp program using Notepad. Look for a line that starts with this: defun c: Whatever follows should be the command to type in at the command line to execute the code. To learn more about AutoLisp, as it is called, click on the link to Lee Mac Programming contained in post #5 above. Lee has graciously provided a short tutorial about loading lisp programs at his website. Quote
LIXBERTSILLA Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Hello Mr. ReMark, thank you so much, but i followed all the steps..and still the same, i also opened a link from Mr. Lee mac's programming, but i still cant see, or dispalys automatically the cumulative are and lengths in geometry portion under properties. i also appload and was also successfully loaded the codes..,i have been thinking maybe the problem is my auto cad which is 2010 and i am using a 64 bit windows 8..is it possible to run this code? thank you so much Quote
