Hi, I'm using Acad LT 2009.

I use these forums a lot and can usually find what I'm looking for when searching, but my searches for this issue drew a blank. Sorry if this question has been posted before.

When printing to .pdf files using the built-in "DWG To PDF.pc3" printer I get very fuzzy and blurred text, even when using maximum quality.

This only happens with True Type fonts as you can see below.

The text above the title block is Shape File text and prints OK. I could use Shape File text in the title block but would prefer to use True Type fonts. Text appears fine when printing on a normal printer.

Any suggestions to fix this?

I've just found a solution - by using the Foxit Phantom .pdf printer the text appears perfectly.

I had this same problem with LT 2009 using the monochrome.ctb.

I think all the background data that AutoCAD 2009 stuffs into a pdf file overwhelms the image handling capabilities of the LT version, don't really know. You can even see it in the plot preview. It does not seem to affect the lines as much as it does the text.

I downloaded Autodesk TrueView 2010 free and use it for plotting all my pdf's. I used it to avoid any compatability issues from the gitgo.

I like the results.

You will also notice that a pdf file size from TrueView will be 50% to 70% smaller than one plotted directly from AutoCAD. I don't have any idea what it leaves out. This may affect the importability of the pdf back to AutoCAD, not sure about that either, have not tried it yet.

Don't use true type fonts. Use standard fonts like ISO or ISO3098B. I have found that using true type fonts produces those results even in the edit area of the drawing. Maybe it's a light thing that prints them fuzzy as well, although full acad prints them nicely, they are still a pain to look at....
