hanz007 Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Hello all! I'm trying to trace the outline of a block. I have tried searching on the forums, but haven't had MUCH luck. Is there a way to do this? Perhaps a lisp? Thank-you Quote
hanz007 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 I tried drawing a rectangle around the block. Then BPOLY. Selecting a spot between the block and the rectangle.( This was in a post made early in these forums) here http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14493&highlight=draw+boundary+box+around+selected+object I even tried the lisp ECO, But My block was scaled and ran into the same problem as the last poster. dbroada Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I've never tried that before - but BPOLY works here. I wonder what I can use that for.... Quote
hanz007 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 When I try bpoly I get a "valid hatch boundary not found" Quote
ReMark Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 It might be because one side of your block is open. Can you post an image? Quote
hanz007 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 OK, here is what I was asked to try. Can I copy a silhouette image off the net and put it into cad. Trace out the boarder of the image and save that boarder. I tried by getting a vector image and saved it into cad. Changed its' size to what I can work with. But can't trace out a boarder. Maybe this just won't work. Quote
hanz007 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 Humm, got an vector image changed into a .dfx drawing. But the size is WAY to big. Just need to scale it down into something smaller. Just curious but, has anyone ever done anything like this before? Quote

Maybe this just won't work. I wonder if it is this simple. The first time I did a trace my lines disappeared. I found them however. They were under the picture. I put the picture on a different layer and changed its drawing order to "Send to Back". The trace lines appeared on top then, Quote
hanz007 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 WHOO!! I got it to work! Thank-you for all you help people! Quote
