DuWayne Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I have a drawing of a NACA 0012 airfoil. I extruded it to length and would like to turn it into a solid. What are the steps to turn it in a solid? Quote
ReMark Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 So is this airfoil a surface or a mesh at the moment? Quote
DuWayne Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 I have attached the file. Thanks for the help! I'm just getting started with 3D. Helicopter Blades New.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I brought the airfoil into AutoCAD 2010 (ignoring warning about missing proxy objects) and did a List command on it. I'm told the airfoil is already a 3Dsolid. There's nothing to do. Quote
DuWayne Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 I have been trying to edit it by slicing but it won't let me. Guess I will just have to dig a little deeper. Thanks for your help Quote

Thanks for your help I was able to slice using an extruded spline. I did notice you had a couple of hatch objects within the solid. Perhaps you were inadvertently selecting the hatches and not the solid during your slice operation. Shift + Space will allow you to cycle your selection if you did not know already. KC Quote
