i have a drawing from consulting co. and it is shown all in paper space.in every layout, the author hides some of the layer in paper space. my problem is when i will go to model space all layers are shown. i tried to figure out how did he hide those layers in papers space and showing all layers in model space. i've wasted to much time thinking and figuring out how did he hide it. i check the help tool but i cannot find it.

You can freeze layers in active viewports that won't affect model space.

So, for each layout, there are probably different layers frozen for that viewport alone.

If you make a viewport current, then open layers, there is a column for layers frozen in this viewport. The layers will be different for each viewport.

he used the LAYFRZ command. It's located on the Layers II toolbar (the Snowflake icon).

Active the viewport by double clicking inside it, then initiate the LAYFRZ command via Command Line or Toolbar Icon. Any entity you click on will "freeze" that layer only within the Viewport. :)

No need for LISP. Just change the ACAD.PGP command list to make it whatever combination of letter(s) you want. Or just put the Toolbar Icon on any existing Toolbars you currently have open and regularly use. :)
