Setup your title blocks as 1:1 per the sheet size you wish to print on. Now to get your drawing scaled correctly with out the dim issue. In paperspace you can create viewports. Viewports are windows in paperspace that show what is in model space. After you draw the viewport you want you have the option to set the scale of that viewport. So in your case you want to set the scale to 1:2 and your drawing will appear at half size in the view port. I suggest putting all your dims on paperspace but its really personal preference to be honest. Also keep in mind that when you are drawing in model space that you always draw 1:1 for your paperspace scaling to work properly. Quote

ReMark Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 The first rule is: DRAW YOUR OBJECTS IN MODEL SPACE AT FULL SCALE. Quote
MikeScott Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 draw a drawing on the model tab and dimension it. Then go to the layout tab.. set it to your page size (right click on it when it's "active" and choose "page layout") Then if you can't already see your drawing on that layout tab, type MVIEW and then stretch a window to permit you to see the drawing area on your page. double-click in that drawing area.. (which takes you to the special "modelspace within paperspace" mode in that viewport) now type ZOOM 1xp (makes the drawing fullscale.. in comparison to your paperspace size you specified in the page layout) then do ZOOM .5xp means it's HALF the paperspace units (ie- 2" of drawing is printed at 1" on the paper) .125xp is 1/8 scale, etc.. (1 divided by If this is unclear, please understand that the DOING is much easier than the "EXPLAINING" Quote

Geoffers Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 thanks for your very clear instructions all is well but dont worry i will have some more newbie questions on the way I'm glad you were not put-off by ReMark's shouting - surprised to see / hear it... Quote
MikeScott Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 LOL.. I think the emphasis is justified, considering how many people seem to say to themselves: "ok, they must be suggesting fullscale for parts.. this building is MUCH to big to be done at fullscale.. I'll do it at 1:10 scale instead." ReMark always seems to be neck-deep trying to sort out someone's scaling woes.. Guess he's trying to save himself some effort. Quote
ReMark Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 The caps were for emphasis and not shouting although I'm getting weary from repeating the phrase. Is FILEDIA = 1 considered shouting too? Quote
