Archetype Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I have placed center marks on three collinear circles. Next I used the JOIN command to join the center lines to indicate they are indeed collinear. The center circle (technically a bolt head) has the center mark neatly in the center where it belongs. The circles on either side no longer have the center mark in the center. I know my instructor showed me a command to manually "slide" the center line so you can relocate the dash in the line to match up with the vertical center line…but I can’t remember it. Does anyone know this command or method? Thanks, Center Line to Center Mark.docx Quote
luther4000 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 The center circle has the lines crossing properly because it is in the center why don't you break the horizontal line so the parts showing the cener of the circle are equal in length so they will show neatly in the center and then you join them horizontally? JD Mather Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Modern CAD programs like Autodesk inventor have tools to do this automatically without fudge factors. Quote
rkent Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 You can adjust for one circle but when you have two or three circles and one centerline it isn't going to happen easily. You would have to start stretching the centerline equal lengths until you got the look you are after. Much easier to have three centerlines. Or as JD says, you can scrap AutoCAD, tell your employer you need $5000 for a new program and a few months to get up to speed on using it, and then you can finish your drawing. Quote
