captainjango Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Hello there CADTutor members! I am currently drawing a Gameboy advance as a drawing for my advance CAD class at my school. I have completed most of the drawing and I am up to the point where I have to draw the transparent window and put it on the Gameboy. I was wondering if someone would be able to help me make this transparent window for my Gameboy advance. My current CAD teacher does not have much experience in this field of CAD hence the reason I have come into these forums. If someone could give me step by step instructions on how to make this window for my Gameboy it would be much appreciated. -CaptainJango Quote

captainjango Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 can you post some a work in progress picture? Here is a picture of my piece, the selected section is where the panel is supposed to be placed. Please see the attachment. Quote
iskalipsi Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Make a rectangle(then extrude) for your panel then create a material for your transparent panel.Maybe adjust the color of the material lightly so that it will be visible enough to identify that its there. I have attached a picture to guide you where you will be going. Quote

I created a rectangle and extruded it like you said then I created a material to make it the transparent panel and are you supposed to render something after you apply the material to the object to allow it to be see through? I just rendered the scene and it turned out be successful; and I am also playing with the translucency to make it more realistic. How does this look to you ? Quote
