Plain autocad does not have the option.

AutoCAD Mech does. As well as Inventor if that helps.

Can AutoCAD Mech and Inventor save as *.dwg files?

Or *.dxf files?

Yep, dwg is the native format for both as far as I know.

I think most all Autocad versions since the days of R-8 have the option of IGESIN or OUT. Problem being is that on versions after R-14 you must specify at the intitial time of loading up Acad, that you want it included into the standard program. It became an OPTION at the time, instead of a given. It has been discussed many times here already. The ones I import tend to come in sort of screwey.

Coosbay, you're using pre 2000 Autocad. The IGES functionality was removed from Autocad a long time ago. I believe it's still available in Autocad Mechanical though, but not plain Autocad.

As indicated IGES translator was removed from vanilla AutoCAD some time ago and placed in the vertical Autodesk applications.

You can also use free Inventor Fusion http://labs.autodesk.com (if available in your part of the world) to open IGES files and convert to dwg format.

Which AutoCAD (e.g. Mechanical, Inventor, Architecture, etc.) have built in, not adding extra software/program, that can import and export drawing as iges file?
