KRBeckman Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I'm having a problem with my attribute definitions when I use pieces of two different blocks to create a new block and I'm thinking the solution will be pretty easy, I just can't figure it all out... All of the blocks I use have a common attribute (Tagged "ITEXT"), and if I forget to delete all but one, then I'm left with duplicate attribute tags, which causes issues when my customer exports the attribute tag data to be used (not exactly sure what they do with it, but I know when there are duplicates it causes issues). What I need to do is delete any duplicates of the "ITEXT" attribute tags and then clear out any text that is in the remaining "ITEXT" attribute. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Quote
dbroada Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 you should use BEDIT to get one instance of the block correct. Exit the block editor making sure you save changes and then ATTSYNC the recently modified block. This will make all other instances of that block the same. Quote
KRBeckman Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 I'm sorry, I'm not the best at describing things with words, I do better with drawing pictures, but I'll try again... I insert a couple blocks into a new drawing, explode, manipulate, and then re-block those entities into a new block, which cannot have duplicate attributes. So I'm thinking it'd be easiest to look for & delete duplicate attributes during the time that all the entites are not contained in a block. Hope this helps clear things up. Quote
