The Buzzard Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 hello to all,how I can protect my *.vlx files against decompilations? I know about protect.exe from autodesk but the is a lot of unprotect.exe. Thanks Protect.exe is for Password protection of Executive type files. It has nothing to do with VLX. Its not even made by Autodesk. You could use a hardware key or software key, But that can run into an additional expense. If you are selling software, That may be the way to go since the price of the keys can be included in the selling price of the program. You can check out this site for information: http://www.aladdin.com/hasp/default.aspx Quote
JohnM Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I have been around for a while and I sell my programs and I have yet to find a vlx de-compiler, not that one doesn’t exist but I would like to see one if it does. I have used Aladdin’s hasp key for some of my stuff that I sell and it works well, but it does not protect the VLX file like it does dll’s and exe files. You write a lisp code to access the hasp key then depending on the return information you let your code continue. Although Aladdin will interface using lisp you can’t wrap the other options it has around a vlx file they are for dll’s and exe files. It’s been some time since I have spoken with them so maybe they have added a wrapper type for vlx files. I think keys are about $40.00 usd . Quote
