alnabhani Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 hi, i'm using inventor 2011, i've made a whole assembly, but by mistake we have drawn the assembly in a wrong view, so that the top view in our real design is an inclned right view in inventor ! i've noticed this just after i've finished mating about 20 parts the rotate command doesn't rotate the whole assembly but only part by part ! Goomba Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I would say you havnt contrained it properly. If you have it all contrained together correct and no parts are grounded you should then be able to then contrain a part of the assembly to the origin planes by angle to get the view you want. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Would Right clicking on the view cube and seting 'View to front' help? Quote
shift1313 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I agree with goomba. Whatever the first part in your assembly is will probably have a little Pin icon over it meaning its grounded. This may be causing you trouble. You can right click on the part or the parts name in the feature tree and make sure Grounded is checked. Then assuming all the other constraints are correct you can constrain it to one of your origin planes. Quote
