matt4 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I'm new to solidworks so please be easy on me! Basically, I want this to be at 60 degrees and I want the dimension to form as a arc dimension. I know how you do this in autocad but I am so confused with solidworks. Please can someone point this out? Quote
shift1313 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Hey matt, im not sure i follow you on this. Do you have a part drawn and you are trying to dimension it in a drawing file? Or are you trying to add this dimension in a sketch? The approach to modeling something in SW vs Acad is different. The dimensions you add in a sketch are the parameters that define the sketch(very important that they be defined). Unlike Acad. Can you maybe upload a zip file or put a screen shot or what you are trying to do. Quote
matt4 Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 I'm trying to add a dimension in a drawing file. Sorry forgot to attach. Here is the screenshot. Thanks, Quote
shift1313 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 alright when you add the dimension it looks as if you are selecting the end points. Select the actual lines and this should give you what i believe you are looking for. Quote
matt4 Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 Thank you, Also how can I adjust the two mirrored lines so they are exactly 60degrees apart. Sorry for the late reply. Quote
shift1313 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Well you have a vertical line, you can either add a 30 degree dimension between that and one of your mirrored lines(the other one will move), or you can place a 60 degree dimension between them. Quote
