memphis710 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Hi All, Just recently copying and pasting objects has become a nightmare. Normally when duplicating objects I use the good old faithful Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V commands to copy and paste. More accurate stuff with the 'copy' command. Recently whilst copying any objects, when pasting them back into the drawing, the object or line or whatever, is miles away from my mouse cursor. The basepoint of an object pasted used to be the 'bottom left' corner no matter what the object was. Now there seems to be a large offset when pasting meaning that I have to zoom out of drawings to show my pasted object on the screen... Any thoughts on how to restore this? Cheers Ollie Quote
rkmcswain Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Copyclip and pasteclip are shortcuts for WBLOCK and INSERT, not really meant to be used as the COPY command. When you copyclip, it creates a new drawing in your %temp% directory, and pasteclip inserts it. So when you are using copyclip, I'm not sure what it uses as the "basepoint", and there could be issues with the current ucs and or the INSBASE setting of the drawing. Does this happen in a new (no template) drawing? Quote
memphis710 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 Randomly stopped for some reason... Ah well. Thanks for the info anyway. Cheers Ollie Quote
dbroada Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 and that is why I ALWAYS use the copy with base point method (ctrl-shift-c). You then get to chose the base point rather than leaving it to AutoCAD. Quote
Dana W Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Had that happen. Can't prove it, but I think scrolling or zooming monkees up the offset relationship. Quote
