Layers highlighted in blue in layer manager

Greetings,

In my layer manager some layers are highlighted in light blue which apparently denotes those layers as having a VP overide. What does this mean? Of what significance is it and how do I turn it off/change it back?

Many thanks.

It means either one, or more than one, of the following has happened: the Layer's colour, linetype, lineweight, plotstyle has been changed explicitly for that particular viewport, in relation to the model. This change is called a Viewport Override.

The below is a procedure for removing these overrides:

In the Layer Dialogue Box, on the left hand side you should see the Filters section. Click on Viewport Overrides. Then on the main body of the Layer Dialogue Box, right click on any (or a multiple) of the layers that are now listed (and coloured blue). This should bring up a box, which contains, amongst other things, "Remove Viewport Overrides for". At this point, you have various options. I shall leave the explanation of what each option is for you to learn and figure out for yourself.

You have answered your own question. The layer settings for a VP have been set different than the global layer setting (generally the ones on the left for color, linetype, plotstyle, etc.). You can go into each viewport and change the various VP settings to match the settings for the global layer settings.

If you want to plot layers differently per vp then you use overrides.

Got it guys, thanks a lot for your help here. Just not used to working this way.

Cheers.
