m_freeman Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I am using autocad 2002 on an HP laptop w/ windows xp pro. I have used this for years performed like a swiss watch. I had to re install windows xp and acad 2002 now when I look at my screen in autocad all the circles look like ovals and I plot in model space so I have my 24 x 36 borders and title blocks in the drawing and they are squished and distorted stretched left and right. I suspect it has something to do with my video card but everything else displays fine? Quote
kencaz Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Your aspect ratio is off for your monitor... Your monitor will have certain (maybe several), resolutions with the correct aspect. Best way is to just create a circle in Autocad and adjust your resolution until it looks good to you... KC Quote

You need to re-install your Display adapter Driver. Either from a disk or online. Go to the manufactures web page for your adapter and update. On the same screen you were before click "Advanced" >> "Adapter" Tab... This will display the adapter information. Click properties to update driver if you can't find online... KC Quote

KC figured something like that as when I open adapter tabs all boxes say nothing is there or no info. I'll contact the guy that built the laptop and see what video and adaptor he put in see how to install driver, I have the same problem with wireless modem availability --nothing there. This is a custom built HP so tech should have info for me thanks KC Quote
