frostrap Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I recently downloaded vb 2008 express from Microsoft and have written a couple simple programs to try to get used to the differences between vb and vba. The next step I'd like to take is to write a few simple commands in vb to use in AutoCAD (I'm using '09). Unfortunately I have no idea where to start or how to go about doing this. I'm pretty comfortable with lisp and VBA, but have never done anything with the the vb API. Can someone walk me through the process of creating a simple AutoCAD command in VB and getting it to work in CAD? I think I could run pretty far if I just got a push in the right direction. Thanks! SEANT Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 This training video DevTV: Introduction to AutoCAD .NET Programming is an excellent introduction to AutoCAD programming via VB.NET (and a bit of C#.Net at the beginning). http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=1911627&siteID=123112 Quote
CmdrDuh Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 And I wont debate C# vs VB, but you will find lots of examples in C# floating around the net Quote
